East Coast Silken Windhound Club Mission Statement
• The goal in the formation of this regional Club is to provide a place to have fun with our hounds and to further learn about our breed. The ECSW Club has the goal to always provide camaraderie amongst our Club members and with other Silken Windhound owners and fanciers.
• To serve our East Coast members and the general public as an educational outlet for information regarding the Silken Windhound breed.
• To provide mentorship to all our members.
• To recognize and accept the breed standard as set by the ISWS as the only standard of excellence by which Silken Windhounds shall be judged.
• To encourage and promote responsible, selective and ethical breeding of purebred Silken Windhounds with an emphasis on good health, temperament, conformation and the ability to perform as a sighthound.
• To further encourage and promote responsible ownership of Silken Windhounds.
• To conduct licensed and sanctioned Specialty events under the rules and regulations of the ISWS as well as the UKC and all performance events that the ECSW holds will be conducted under the rules of those specific organizations.
• To encourage good sportsmanlike competition in and at any event including but not limited to all competitive, performance, and companion dog events.
• To encourage and assist rescue operations that involves the Silken Windhound within our East Coast Regional area.
